"I was recently speaking to a dad—his 30-year-old son was in treatment, but he was the one covering the costs of care, so he’s the one I spoke to.

The dad had a lot of guilt about his son’s addiction…because he was also using. He shared that he’s pretty much broke. So we discussed getting some Patient Aid for his son’s outpatient care, to set him up for success in recovery. But here’s the part of the story that really warms my heart: When the dad saw how we were ready to help his son, he asked if maybe we could also make it work for him to come to treatment, too.

Wow. When the dad saw that we helped his son with the financial costs of treatment, it made him brave enough to ask, “What about me…can I also get help?” Two days after the son finished his program, the dad checked himself into treatment.
